grieving design
hey everyone,
i met this guy called matt recently at edinburgh college of art. he's in his last year of doing the product design course there. anyway, we got talking about his project for this year. he described it as 'non-therapeutic individual design for grievers'. this caught my attention. i had never heard of anything like it so i decided to create this blog, with his permission, to document what he is doing. apparently he researched the experiences of five different people asking about when they were grieving. i asked him about how difficult it was to talk to people about such a touchy subject. he said that he was surprised how open, almost enthusiastic people were to talk about it. i guess people don't often get the chance so when an opportunity like this one arises they are very willing. well thats my theory anyway. so, he's going to do 3 objects that have some kind of function relating to 3 experiences coming from these 5 people. he is still trying to narrow down an abundance of ideas at the moment so i'm going to keep anyone that's curious posted on this blog. i'm also going to try to get some sketches etc from him to show the different stages he goes through while developing these curious objects. i hope youy guys are chomping at the bit as much as i am. soon.
